We had a week of bad weather and spent many hours hanging in the van while it dumped outside. Hammie thought it was great as she got lots of attention with no climbing to distract her parents.

When the weather improved Hammie decided to imitate mom and dad and try her hand at rock climbing. Clearly she enjoyed it.

Hammie generally enjoys being out climbing as long as the wind is minor and it's not too cold. She can sit on a crash pad and watch mom and dad climb or take a nap. She has become pretty adept at sitting so but she still topples over from time to time as captured in the last two photos from Joshua Tree National Park in California (when we looked at these photos in succession it made us laugh).

Hammie and the Climbing Life

I've made few posts on my other blog about our new life in the van. (www.kearneyjourney.blogspot.com) For those that want to sift through the climbing content there are several Hammie photos to be found.
Hammie digs the new life. She's an adaptable little girl and takes everything in stride, from sleeping in mom's down-jacket to being held by dirty climbers while mom and dad climb. Good times.

After a heinous day of travel (one ferry, one train, and two planes) we arrived in the Los Angeles just in time to for a New Year's party at Malibu. Hammie was perfect throughout the entire day and when midnight rolled around she was the only one in our little family unit that was ready to party. Apparently New Year's celebrations override jet-lag.

Pass-the-Hammie has been played non-stop over the last 3 days and now Hammie has met much of her crazy American family. She seems to enjoy the revolving playmates and everyone is quite smitten with our little girl. Good times.

Double Team

Hammie's double chin and I'm-the-center-of-the-universe attitude may reek of America but don't forget that she loves socialized health care and remains passive when it comes to global conflicts. That's right, she is both Swedish and American and can play either card at her leisure.
